Pacific Technical Resources, Inc. is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. Our safety and health program complies with federal, state and local regulations, meeting all occupational safety and health requirements. Our professionals continually strive to bridge the gap between compliance and excellence.
Our staff understands and respects the diverse environments and conditions in which we are required to operate. We believe all work-related injury and illness can be prevented, and we encourage reporting all health and safety hazards, incidents, and near misses to avoid negative outcomes. Additionally, many of our staff and field personnel are AED & CPR certified, providing a second line of defense against unforeseeable health events.
Pacific Technical Resources, Inc. Safety Program was developed in conjuction with Target Safety. Target Safety is associated with the National Fire Protection Association and provides OSHA compliant training. Target Safety currently provides internet based training courses that incorporates testing, requiring at least a 70% passing grade to ensure comprehension.
All of our employees are required to complete our online training program featuring 14 safety courses. Below is a sample of the courses in this program (any course can be expanded to meet the specific needs of our clients and the working environments):

Safety upkeep

As part of our on-going commitment to safety, all employees are required to participate in Daily Tailboard meeting and Weekly Safety meetings. All employees shall also adhere to the Job Hazard Analysis Form as outlined by Cal-OSHA.

Injury and Illness Prevention Plan

Pacific Technical Resources, Inc. comprehensive Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) encompasses all of our service offerings. Our IIPP includes a Code of Safe Practices, hazards analysis, accident reporting and investigation procedures, recording-keeping requirements, and all applicable safety programs. Our comprehensive IIPP exemplifies our dedication to keeping our employees safe. No accidents on the job means no time lost and no money wasted.

ISNetworld/Avetta/Arriba

Pacific Technical Resources, Inc. is an active member of ISNetworld, Avetta (PICS) and Arriba, which all provide our clients a streamlined reporting dashboard for verifying insurance certificates, OSHA forms, Experience Modification Rate letters, health, safety and environmental programs, as well as training information. We save clients time by providing third-party verification that our programs are of the highest caliber.

Our integration with these programs also allows clients to use the portal to submit monthly reports on hours spent on a project, or a number of incidents, if any, in accordance with OSHA record keeping requirements.

Our Corporate Safety Officer

Pacific Technical Resources, Inc. has an in house Corporate Safety Coordinator, Bob Hooker, with 20 years experience in power plants. Mr. Hooker is a motivated safety professional with an exceptional grasp of OSHA rules and regulations, proficient in writing health and safety plans, and conducting safety observations and accident investigations.
Mr. Hooker participated in the development of and is tasked with the implementation of a comprehensive safety program for Pacific Technical Resources, Inc. He provides classroom and online training, maintains OSHA records and workers’ compensation claims, provides support on health and safety services for project managers and personnel teams, and conducts safety observations and facility inspections to ensure safety compliance. Field Safety

Pacific Technical Resources, Inc. field staff is committed to a safe working environment at all times during any project or outage. Our field personnel work with all other contractors and owners to implement a project-specific construction plan.

Safety Representative

Pacific Technical Resources, Inc. (PTR) shall designate a qualified and experienced representative on site, whose duties and responsibilities shall be the prevention of accidents and the maintaining and supervising of safety precautions and programs. PTR shall submit a job specific safety plan in accordance with Cal-OSHA.

Safety and Protection

  1. PTR is solely responsible for initiating, maintain and supervising all safety precautions and programs in connection with the work, and shall take all necessary precautions for the safety of, and shall provide the necessary protection to prevent damage, injury, or loss to:
    1. All persons on the site or who may be affected by the work;
    2. All the work and materials and equipment to be incorporated therein, whether in storage on or off the site; and
    3. Other property at the site or adjacent thereto, including underground utilities.

PTR shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to the safety of persons or property from damage, injury, or loss; and shall erect and maintain all necessary safeguards for such safety and protection. PTR shall notify owners of adjacent property and of underground facilities and other utility owners.
